Position the gazebo on a flat, level area away from overhanging trees, fences, or structures. Avoid soft or waterlogged ground that could cause legs to sink or shift. Patios, decking, and firm lawns are ideal.
Open the gazebo frame and adjust all four legs to the same height before locking them in place. An uneven frame places stress on the joints and can cause collapse. Ensure all locking pins or clips are fully engaged.
Non-negotiable. Once erected, anchor the gazebo using pegs, weights, or tie-down straps before use. An unsecured gazebo can become a serious hazard in even a light breeze. Do not use the gazebo without anchoring it first.
Secure all canopy clips and velcro fastenings firmly. Loose panels act as a sail in wind and can destabilise the structure. If conditions become windy, remove side panels first to reduce wind resistance.
Gazebos are weather-dependent structures. Only use the gazebo when conditions are suitable. If the weather turns, pack it away immediately — do not wait. Weather-related damage is not covered and the full damage charge will apply.
Check anchors regularly throughout the day. Re-secure immediately if anything comes loose, especially if the wind picks up or guests have been moving around nearby.
A responsible adult must be present at all times while the gazebo is erected — someone who can act quickly if conditions change or the structure becomes unsafe.
Do not hang heavy items, lights, or decorations from the frame unless specifically designed for it. Overloading weakens joints and significantly increases collapse risk.
Keep the gazebo well away from BBQs, fire pits, patio heaters, and candles. The canopy is not fireproof — any burn damage will result in the full damage charge.
If rain causes water to pool on the canopy, push it off gently from below using a broom handle. Pooled water is extremely heavy and can buckle the frame.
Even in fine weather, pack the gazebo away when you're done for the day. Never leave it erected overnight — conditions can change rapidly and without warning.
Before collapsing the frame, remove all pegs, weights, and tie-down straps. Attempting to collapse while still anchored can damage the legs and joints.
If the canopy or panels are wet, remove them separately and allow to dry if possible — or pack loosely. Do not seal soaking wet material in the bag for extended periods as this causes mould and damage.
With a second person if possible, release the locking pins and gently collapse the frame inward. Do not force or bend the legs — the aluminium frame can be permanently damaged if collapsed incorrectly.
Ensure all frame sections, the canopy, side panels, pegs, and straps are returned to the carry bag. Missing parts will be charged for. Check the area thoroughly before packing up.
Any damage to the gazebo — including weather damage, structural damage, torn canopy, bent or broken frame sections, missing parts, or damage caused by misuse — carries a £150 damage charge payable upon collection. This applies regardless of the cause, including adverse weather conditions.
