Why Barnet’s Gardens Are Made for Hot Tub Hire
Barnet holds a unique position among London boroughs. As the second largest by area, stretching from the urban bustle of Golders Green and Hendon in the south to the almost rural landscapes of Hadley Wood and Arkley in the north, it offers some of the most generous residential garden space anywhere inside the M25. For hot tub hire, this matters enormously. Larger gardens mean easier delivery, more placement options, and a more comfortable experience overall. We deliver to all Barnet postcodes, including EN4, EN5, N2, N3, N11, N12, N14, N20, NW4, NW7 and NW11.
Barnet’s Garden Landscape: A Postcode by Postcode Guide
Totteridge and Arkley (N20, EN5)
Totteridge Lane is one of London’s most remarkable residential roads. Running for over two miles through what feels like deep countryside, the properties here sit on plots that would be considered generous anywhere in the Home Counties, let alone in a London borough. Many homes in Totteridge have gardens exceeding 100 feet in length, with lawns, mature trees and established planting that create a sense of complete privacy. Arkley, just to the north, shares this character. These gardens can accommodate any of our hot tubs with ease, and many customers here choose our larger six to seven person models for family weekends or entertaining.
The main consideration in Totteridge and Arkley is not space but access distance. Because gardens are so large, the walk from where our delivery vehicle parks to the chosen placement spot can be considerable. When booking, it helps to let us know approximately how far the tub will need to be carried from your driveway or side gate to its final position.
High Barnet and Hadley Wood (EN5, EN4)
High Barnet sits at the very top of the Northern line, and the housing stock reflects its position on London’s edge. Detached and large semi detached homes predominate, with gardens that typically range from 50 to 80 feet in depth. Hadley Wood, a short distance to the east, is one of north London’s most exclusive enclaves. Properties here are almost universally detached with substantial grounds, often backing onto Hadley Common or the surrounding green belt.
Both areas are excellent for hot tub placement. Most properties have wide driveways and straightforward rear access, making delivery quick and simple. The elevated position of High Barnet also means that many gardens enjoy views across the Hertfordshire countryside, adding a genuine sense of escape to a hot tub weekend.
Finchley (N3, N12, N2)
Finchley, divided into North, East and Church End, represents the heart of suburban Barnet. The housing is predominantly semi detached, built between the 1920s and 1950s, with rear gardens typically between 40 and 60 feet long. These are classic London suburban gardens, wide enough and long enough to comfortably accommodate a hot tub while still leaving space for children to play or for additional garden furniture.
Finchley is one of our most popular delivery areas in north London. The combination of good garden sizes, easy road access via the A1000 and A598, and a large population of families who enjoy garden based entertaining makes it a natural fit. Many Finchley customers are repeat bookers who hire a hot tub several times a year for different occasions.
Hendon and Mill Hill (NW4, NW7)
Hendon offers a mix of housing types, from the larger properties around Hendon Park and Brent Street to the more modest terraces and semis closer to the Broadway. Garden sizes vary accordingly, but the majority of Hendon homes have sufficient rear garden space for at least our four person tub. Mill Hill, further north, has a more uniformly spacious feel. The streets around Mill Hill Village, with its historic ridge top position, feature large detached homes with gardens to match.
Golders Green and Hampstead Garden Suburb (NW11)
Hampstead Garden Suburb is one of the finest examples of planned residential development in England. The wide, tree lined streets and generous plots were designed in the early twentieth century with outdoor living in mind, and the gardens here remain some of the most attractive in London. Golders Green proper has a denser housing mix, but many properties, particularly the large Edwardian houses along Finchley Road and Golders Green Road, retain substantial rear gardens.
Practical Guidance for Barnet Hot Tub Placement
With so much garden space available across the borough, Barnet customers often have the luxury of choosing exactly where to position their hot tub. Here are some practical considerations.
- Level ground is essential. Our tubs must sit on a flat, firm surface. Lawns are fine provided they are reasonably level. Patio areas and decking are ideal, though decking should be checked for structural soundness if it is raised significantly off the ground.
- Proximity to a power supply. Our tubs require a standard 13 amp plug socket. An outdoor socket is ideal, but we can run an extension lead through a door or window if needed. The shorter the cable run, the better.
- Shelter from wind. Barnet’s elevated position, particularly in High Barnet, Arkley and Hadley Wood, means gardens can be more exposed to wind than those in inner London. Positioning the tub near a fence, hedge or wall provides natural shelter and helps retain heat.
- Privacy. While Barnet gardens are generally well screened by mature planting, consider the sightlines from neighbouring properties and position accordingly. Many customers choose a spot near the bottom of the garden for maximum seclusion.
The Suburban Advantage
There is a reason Barnet is one of London’s most popular boroughs for families, and the same qualities that attract residents also make it ideal for hot tub hire. The space, the quiet, the sense of being slightly removed from central London’s intensity. A hot tub in a Totteridge garden on a Friday evening, with nothing but birdsong and the hum of the pump, is a world away from the working week. Even in the busier southern parts of the borough, the generous proportions of Barnet’s housing stock mean you are rarely on top of your neighbours.
Our delivery routes into Barnet are well established. We typically approach from the A1 or A41, and parking is rarely an issue in the borough’s residential streets. Most deliveries in Barnet take between 30 and 45 minutes from arrival to a fully set up, filling hot tub.
